Well, the Sens owner Melnyk officially denied rumors that the GM and head coach's jobs were in danger, and stated his support of them (for the time being). Last night completed their long road trip with a 1-6-1 result. Pretty sad. Goals against was 4.125 over the trip, prompting the latests news; Brian Elliott being called-up for Saturday's game is currently considered. I don't think it's fair to blame the goaltenders entirely, as both Volchenkov and Kuba have been out with injury and the team has been coughing the puck up at the worst times. But if you are looking toward next year, Gerber is most certainly gone and Elliott is playing very well in the AHL, so it is a good time to test Elliott for next season. Elliott got into a few games last season and didn't look out of place. Of course, it wasn't enough time to accurately access his skill either. I don't think the Sens have much to lose by testing him out.
