Some other blog was recently bashing my Senators. I have no argument against their reputation as playoff chokers. I have even won a fair amount of money betting against them, before jumping on the bandwagon. But as with the 'New NHL', I am a 'New Senators' fan for the last two seasons. Seveal things have lead to this change: the LA Kings totally suck, JR can't play anymore and following an Eastern Conference team allows Tivo'd one-hour speed watching of games. The team no longer has Yashin or Daigle. They have toughness and guys that can hit. (Spezza doesn't count) They are fun to watch. Their goalie once ate a cockroach for a $500 bet and got a new tattoo.
Besides, the Sens will win and get home ice advantage for the first round of Playoffs.
