Paper Tigers and Suspensions

I forgot to mention that George Laraque is getting a 5-game suspension for a knee-to-knee hit on Nik Kronwall, which put the Red Wings defenseman out of the line-up for 4-6 weeks with a torn MCL. That's a tough break, as the Red Wings are already a pretty ding'd up team.

The Senators are currently leading the Northeast Division. I have to say that it's great, but realistically a testament to an easy schedule. A ton of home games for Ottawa's front loaded schedule. 8 away games and 16 homers the first two months of the season. They better get a little cushion in the standings, since they have to pay for it at the end of the season. Something like only 7 home games and 12 roadies, after the Olympic break.
